A Question We Should Ask of Any MLM - The 10k Question

When we take a job or a salaried position, we know what our hourly wage or our annual salary will be before we start.

If we buy a business, we will have projections and reasonable estimates of income.

Why is it that when we start a home based business, we don’t even think about asking those questions?

It would be like starting a job and finding out months later what we are being paid!

When we start a home based business, we should know how hard we will have to work to achieve our goals.

Ask 'The 10K' Question:

“How many active distributors do I need in my business to generate a walk away residual income of $10000 per month?”

I like the question for several reasons.

1. It leaves out products. We don’t get into discussions like “My free phone call program is better than your nutrition plan! My lotion is better than your potion!”

2. The word ‘active’ avoids discussion of attrition rates and the commitment levels of your team.

3. The phrase ‘walk away’ makes us investigate our policies and procedures to make sure we can actually retire and pass our business on to our children’s children. It also ensures that if we do take a break or vacation, our business will still be there when we come back, and our team will continue to be well taken care of.

4. The word ‘residual’ makes us calculate how much money we will make from retail or wholesale sales, not just from recruiting.

5. The figure of $10000 makes us think big. It’s also fair to the company, as most or all of the commissions and bonuses will have kicked in by then.

If we started a job or bought a traditional business, we would know our salary or the income projections from the previous owner.

When we start a home business, however, we rarely ask that question, and we should!

Some worked for five years in a business and discovered too late that it was going to be almost impossible to reach their goals. Some wished they had asked the 10K question before they started.

If you do not know the answer to that question in your present business, find out before you waste five years as some did.

This is 'WHY' You Should Start a Network Marketing Business

Network Marketing or MLM, as it is sometimes called, is an excellent way to earn extra income or build a full time business. Many people who get involved do so because a friend or relative introduced them to the products or service.

The traditional teaching of, "Get a good education and go to work for a big corporation," does not have the same outcome as it did before in many ways.

There has been a paradigm shift in the marketplace. With corporate downsizing and advances in technology many jobs have virtually been eliminated. Families are faced with the dilemma of having to find a way to supplement or even replace their present income source.

Sometimes, the first thought is to get a part time job but this involves more time away from family and other important activities that contribute to a happy life. In an ever changing world we sometimes have to think new thoughts and consider something totally out of our present thought patterns.

For this reason, when a friend or relative says that they want to share an idea that will create extra income many people that might not have thought about it years ago are open to the idea today.

Network Marketing is mainstream business today. There are several billion dollar companies in the industry that have excellent products and services that people from all walks of life are using. It is something to be proud off.

The playing field is level for everyone, which is not the case in traditional business.

Network Marketing or MLM has been associated with, "Get Rich Quick," schemes in the past and is still viewed that way by some people. In reality if one is willing to put in the effort and time to build one of these business in the same way that one would build a traditional business the rewards are great. One can usually start with a few hundred dollars and turn time and effort into a sizable income in a few months.

If one can get pass the hype and see the real potential of what is actually offered MLM can be a rewarding journey.

My suggestion would be to find a company that has products or services that you would want to use whether or not there was a way to make money; this way the money you make will just be a plus. Most people get involved with these companies for the money and sometimes that takes a while which makes them jump to another company which promises faster money.

For this reason many people jump from program to program and never really put in the time and effort that is required to build one of these businesses. Sometimes when people think of building one of these businesses they think of having to drive long distances to give product demonstrations and presentations to people in far away places. With the Internet this is no longer necessary. It is not uncommon to have someone see your website online and join or purchase products without ever talking to you or anyone in your company. Many people like the privacy of checking out an opportunity on their own without being influenced to make a decision. If someone uses the Internet to build their business they can see tremendous growth in their downlines from people they may never meet. Some of these people will live in other countries.

With the Internet it is really a small world. Find a company and get involved.

Steps to Network Marketing Domination!

Establishing a successful NETWORK MARKETING business is a step-by-step sequence. It's a series of problems that need to be solved in order.

If you don't have guidance you'll spend precious time trying to figure it out. Eventually, if you stick with it, more than likely you will.

I did. I figured it out... but it was painful. And I'm sure you could spend the hundreds of hours figuring it out too... or... you could be smart and get the guidance I wish I had when I was first establishing my business.

Let me explain:

Once you get a person interested in the earning potential of NETWORK MARKETING there are a set of questions plaguing this prospect's mind.

Professional sales trainers teach "a confused prospect never buys".

Well, where does confusion come from? What causes it? Even better, how can you eliminate confusion in your prospect?

Confusion comes from unanswered questions and inaccurate information.

If you allow unanswered questions to exist in your "hot" prospect's mind, they'll never sign up as a distributor.

And, more than likely, your "hot" prospect, who's interested in the earning potential of NETWORK MARKETING has heard false horror stories or thinks this is a "pyramid scheme" that's illegal.

Obviously, you must overcome these questions and inaccurate statements before you turn this "hot" prospect into a "hot" distributor in your network.

This is the next set of problems.

Real pros - people who make "dream money" in NETWORK MARKETING - have a special skill.

It's simple to acquire. Anyone can easily get it. And they learned it in elementary school.

It's called recall.

Do you remember in elementary school where your teacher would either ask you to stand up at your desk or call you to the front of the class and ask you to "recall" information?

Doesn't matter if it was the year Columbus set foot on the shores of America or what a verb was.

You were either right... or... you were embarrassed because you didn't know the answer and you were "wrong".

As it was in elementary school, so is it with successful NETWORK MARKETING.

You either know what to say, or you lose the prospect.

You either have a creative answer to those questions that get to the core of the issue, or every new prospect you generate will walk.

Disheartening isn't it?

Well, real pros acted like little children - that's how they became real pros.

They did their homework. They spent a few moments everyday memorizing answers to all the common questions they get from "hot" prospects.

So when a prospect posed their question, they'd have a ready-made answer to deliver.

Having a great answer to a common question gives you confidence.

When you have confidence in what you're saying, you'll establish trust with your prospect.

When your prospect knows you're telling them the truth, the doubt created by the question will vanish. You'll have a convinced prospect who will become your distributor.

That's the process.

But now you have a problem. How are you going to get your hands on a list of common questions people ask about network marketing opportunities?

And, how are you going to get well crafted answers - honest answers you can stand on?

Luckily, I have the solutions!

Over the course of years, I've received dozens upon dozens of questions about how to rake in the dough in NETWORK MARKETING.

And, I'd address one or two questions during my meetings with my network members.

Over the course of two, three or four years, you could have gotten great guidance to serious problems any network marketer faces.

Of course, waiting two or more years to get it could also mean serious frustration or giving up entirely.

Motivation is everything, and nothing...

You can’t succeed without it…

I’m probably stating the obvious when I say that you can’t succeed in business without motivation.

Still, one popular network marketing guru says that's a lie - you are already motivated enough – so you don’t need to think about motivation.

The statistics don’t back that up.

Over 80% of the people involved in network marketing today don’t EVER promote their business. They don’t talk to a single prospect, place a single ad or take even the smallest step beyond joining their company.

Are we to assume these people are motivated?

Motivation by definition is all about the inner strivings of individuals that direct behavior. It’s our unsatisfied desires that create within us the motivation to act with purposeful behavior to achieve our goal.

Lack of action is evidence of a lack of motivation. Period.

The key to network marketing success lies not only in our own motivation but also in our ability to motivate others.

Maybe that’s what’s missing from the popular training formula – the focus beyond ‘why’ something isn’t working and on to ‘how’ we can make it work.

Lee Iacocca said, “Motivation is everything. You can do the work of two people, but you can't be two people. Instead, you have to inspire the next guy down the line and get him to inspire his people.”

Network marketing is a business that hinges on duplication. And no matter what your own level of success and action is, it will duplicate through your organization. Your activity (and attitude) will duplicate into an active downline.

Your inactivity (and attitude) will duplicate into an inactive downline.

One thing to remember is that duplication is never exact. Once in a while you will find someone who will outshine your level of action, but this is rare. Generally your downline organization will do less than you do. This means that if you want to increase the average level of action, you must increase your own level of action even more.

If you're trying to get your downline into action, start by looking at the motivation cycle:

First: Are you motivated to build this business and achieve your goals? If you are having trouble getting into action it's probably not actually due to external influences like lack of time, health issues or financial struggles. You might think that it is but it's not. After all, if you need an excuse not to make a phone call, listen to a training session or build your skills, you will always find one. Rather than make excuses about your inactivity, look for ways to motivate yourself to greater action. Discover a reason that will make you do what you don't want to do right now. Look for ways to stop procrastinating. Also look at what may happen if you do not take action today. If you're happy with what your life will look like in three years, chances are you'll continue to procrastinate and make excuses.

Second: Once you have yourself motivated it's time to start motivating your downline. Notice that I said 'after' - you cannot motive people if you are not motivated! Help downline find a reason in their own life that’s big enough to get them into action. This could be as simple as a pain they have right now they don’t want. Knowing the reason they joined your business is your number one tool in communicating with them. Revisit it often.

Third: Once your downline members have learned how to motivate themselves, teach them how to motivate their own people.

Becoming motivationally fit is much like becoming physically fit. Start with 10 to 15 minutes of positive thought a day. Listen or read something that is uplifting and makes you feel good about yourself and your future. The point isn't to become fit overnight, but to build a habit and make a lifestyle change. Over time you'll find your outlook becoming increasingly more positive. The result will be that you not only feel in charge of your own future, but you'll also have the power to actually take charge.

Are You a Rock and Roll Star? or do you have to work for a living?

Did you write that musical hit that the world couldn't resist? And because of your musical talents, do you receive a music royalty check in the mail for thousands of dollars each month?


No? No musical talent? No skill at writing hit records?

Well, are you a famous novelist?

Are you interviewed on all the television talk shows? Do publishers bid record amounts of money for the rights to your next mystery novel? And, because of your captivating writing talent, do you receive thousands of dollars in royalties from your publisher every month?

Or, do you own a couple million dollars worth of high grade stocks and bonds? And, every month do you receive a dividend check for thousands of dollars, conveniently sent to you from your broker?

Or, did you arrange to be adopted by a rich family? And did that family leave you thousands of dollars in monthly inheritance income from their many trust funds?

Or, do you have to work for a living?

If you are like most people, you have to work for a living.

If you don't work, you don't get paid!

What's different in the above examples?

Well, if you were a successful rock star, novelist, rich investor, or lucky heir, you would receive money every month even if you didn't go to work.

That's called residual income.

What's residual income?

It's a lot different than linear income, the kind most people have. You see, linear income continues only as long as you continue the work.
  • If you are a surgeon, you get paid whenever you perform a surgery. If you don't perform a surgery, you don't get paid.
  • If you are a construction worker, you get paid when you work. If you decide not to work for the next 12 months, chances are your employer is not going to pay you.
  • If you drive a bus, you get paid. If you quit driving buses, you don't get paid.

That's how linear income works. You receive income when you work. When you stop working, the income stops coming.

Residual income is different.

The best way to describe residual income is that when do something right just one time, you get paid over and over again for what you did.

So, you wrote a hit song ten years ago. Every time it plays on the radio somewhere in the world, you get a little royalty. Even though you completed writing your song ten years ago, every month you receive a royalty check from people who play your tune. You did it right one time, and now you collect every month.

When you wrote that hit novel five years ago, you finished your work. Now, you receive regular royalty checks from continuing sales of your book from your friendly publisher. You did it right one time, and now you collect every month.

You invested the few million dollars you had lying around in your checking account six years ago into high grade stock and bonds. Now, every month you look forward to your monthly dividend checks. You did it right one time, and now you collect every month.

You called every duke, queen, business magnate, and rich sports star twenty years ago and asked to be adopted. Finally, one accepted your proposition. Every month your inheritance check reminds you that the adoption letter campaign of twenty years ago really paid off.
You did it right one time, and now you collect every month.

Residual income sounds nice, doesn't it? Unfortunately, most people have trouble developing a residual income.

Why? We can't sing or write music. We don't have publishing contacts for our hit novel. We don't have a few million dollars sitting in our checking account waiting to be invested. And, worst of all, we can't find any rich people in failing health ready to adopt us.

However, there is hope.

There is another way to develop residual income. There's a way to get monthly checks for thousands of dollars so that we can do the things we want in life, so that we can achieve our dreams. And best of all, almost anyone can develop this residual income.

Tens of thousands of people have already developed lifelong residual incomes through the power of network marketing . . .(and the best thing is you don't have to give up your current job security to attain it!)

Network Marketing: Why Do People Achieve Such Radically Different Levels of Financial Success?

One of the questions that people mostly ask in Network Marketing is that why is there such a radical difference in financial success? Why do ‘some’ people make so much money? While some people hardly make any or worse lose money in Network Marketing?

To understand a little better on why this is, and because this concerns ‘financial success’, we have to first understand:

What Network Marketers DON’T Get Paid To Do:

  1. Use the Products: We don’t get paid to use the product! We sometimes hear people saying that ‘they get paid to lose weight’; ‘they get paid to travel’ or ‘they get paid to… (whatever you might like to put in here)’. It is just a false marketing technique to make such statements! This is simply not true! No Network Marketing company ever pays their members/ distributors just to use their products.
  2. Go to Meetings: We do not get paid to go to meetings. Of course, meetings are helpful, they are informative and they can support our team. If your business has a system that does prospecting through meetings, these meetings do help you to develop your business. But, the final line is that you don’t get paid to go to meetings.
  3. Manage the down-line: Some people recruit a few people and they switch to ‘management mode’. They want to just sit back and just ‘manage’ their ‘organization’. However, well you can manage your down-lines, you DO NOT get paid for that.
  4. Send Out E-mails: You don’t get paid to send out e-mails.
  5. Becoming a Product Expert: You don’t get paid to be a product expert. You don’t get paid to know every ingredient in every product, you don’t get paid to know every piece of the compensation plan or the company’s background, management or experience.
  6. Put in hours: Most important and significant factor in Network Marketing is that you DON’T get paid to put in the hours! Now isn’t that a GOOD thing? If you were to be paid for hours, it would definitely be very boring as hours tend to ‘drag’ and there are only so many hours in a day!

But, when you get paid for RESULTS, everything changes! In Network Marketing we get paid for RESULTS! It is these results that Network Marketers DO get paid for.

What DO Network Marketers get paid for?:

Network Marketers get paid for only ONE thing and that is RESULTS! That result is to PRODUCE SALES VOLUME! Any legitimate Network Marketing company pays its distributors to produce Sales Volume. And Sales Volume in a Network Marketing company is produced by:

  1. Creating New Customers: Network Marketing companies pay for distributors who create customers who will buy the product and (hopefully…) buy the product time and time again because they like it so much.
  2. Finding and Enrolling New Distributors who do the same: They are paid when they enroll new distributors who ALSO create new customers who will buy the product and again (hopefully…) repurchase time and again. This concept is the one that creates ‘income residuality’ that is what we are looking for in Network Marketing.
  3. Helping distributors in your ‘pay zone’ or ‘network levels’ to do the same: You get paid when you help your distributors in your network to create new customers or to enroll new distributors who create new customers. Basically, to help increase Sales Volume.

So we see that whoever that makes the most ‘Sales Volume ‘ makes the most money. That is very clear cut. So you would want to focus in on these activities.

Now we have defined the activities that Network Marketers DO get paid for, we then ask:

Why do Network Marketing Companies NEED to PAY Us?

Yes, WHY do Network Marketing companies need to pay us? Obviously, there are many companies that DO NOT have distributors nor do they have a compensation plan.

The #1 challenge today for any company today is:

  1. Getting Peoples’ Attention: Getting peoples’ attention these days is definitely not easy. Sure you can advertise on the TV or Radio. But WHICH channel or station? How many people today STILL pay attention to advertisements? Most people today have already programmed their minds to ‘tune out’ to advertisements on the conventional media. Any organization today will tell you that the most part of their marketing budget goes to ‘ADVERTISING’. And after the high cost of advertising, the result is most of the time DISMALL!
  2. Influence: Generally, companies that advertise DO NOT have the same INFLUENCE on people (hopefully again…) that you and I have. And, INFLUENCE is a very, very important element which is hardest for companies to get! And influence is what all companies want because:

    INFLUENCE leads to EFFECTIVENESS which leads to More RESULTS which leads to FINANCIAL SUCCESS!

So there is actually no secret to why people get such radically different levels of financial Success in Network Marketing. It is simply because they were more EFFECTIVE in the ACTIVITIES which Network Marketing companies DO pay their distributors for which will produce better RESULTS and therefore better FINANCIAL SUCCESS!

Network Marketing: Who's Lying to Who?

In the past many people have made fortunes in network marketing! Usually, only a small number of people at the top made money, they are 'Those with Skills' leaving the majority of distributors - associates failing to achieve any measurable level of success!

Not much has changed over the years, 'until now!' This still is one of the most rewarding home business opportunities you can start today.

Companies today offer products and services that the average person uses on a daily and consistent basis.

We have a much larger selection of products and services today, so no matter where you look you can find something you are passionate about like:
Communication Services, Internet Access, Nutritional Products, Weight Loss Programs, Water Filtration Systems, Financial Programs, Electrical Power, Solar Power.

When you know how you can become very successful!

Becoming successful requires understanding 'What Is Network Marketing'. Many individuals fail to understand this and attempt to diversify instead of focusing on the tasks that will ensure their success.

Several years ago I received a mini calendar from Rich Dad it listed ten steps on “How To Get Out Of The Rat Race.”

Once you understand what it is and 'how Network Marketing works' you will place yourself in a much better position to increase your chances of success.

Everyday an untold numbers of individuals are asking the question of "How Do I Get Started In Network Marketing?"

In my opinion it really is far to easy to get started, although I've found a few companies that do it right by setting a few requirements before you can present it to your friends, family and public.

When looking at the many different companies out there today how do you choose a company, and what should you look for in a network marketing company? Of course, these companies should provide products or services that are unique or consumable, this is very important if we want repeat orders from customers.

Today the power, and reach of the internet have made stocking of products obsolete. Your customers are just a click away from ordering directly online. In fact many of them are shopping and doing their research there right now.

Keep in mind that what you may find exciting and are passionate about, your friends and family may not. On the other hand, they maybe very excited about them if they can actually save them money or give them better quality then what they can get from their local stores. There are two things you’ll need in order to achieve network marketing success

1.) A desire to Learn.
2.) A willingness to take action.

Training Network Marketers:

Contrary to popular belief, your company and your upline are not lying to you. They are not hiding any marketing method or techniques from you. Really what purpose would that serve, they want to see you succeed more then you probably do yourself.

In most cases those advertising this crap are lying to you!

The majority of us get started in this business and follow every rabbit trail looking for the path to success. We never really looked at is as seriously as we should of!

When you really get right down to it, it is easy, yet you have so many things to learn in order to become successful marketers, so what is the problem?

First, we are all different, each of us has different skill sets that we bring to our business. This is why some people are more successful then others in the same time period..

Getting a solid education should be your highest priority, as an independent marketer it is not anyones responsibility for our ultimate success or failure but our own.

What will it take to generate success?

It will take commitment and determination in time, money (marketing budget) and consistent action from you to build and market your business. This is why the 'right' Network Marketing
Training is not only necessary but vitally important to your future success.

Your Own Personal Accountability:

Our human nature is to achieve the greatest results with the least amount of energy expended. Think about it, by carrying over our employee mentality into our business, we our setting ourselves up for failure.

When you want to call your own shots, be your own boss, you had better show up for work. There is not going to be someone there standing over you holding you accountable, that's your job now!

Which Tools & When To Put Them Into Place!

Everyone gets started with the best intentions. Yet, many of you have never done this before! This is a people business, which means our communications skills have to be developed! These skills are more important then just about anything else you'll ever learn!

Everyone wants to tie the internet & network marketing together with their business, and you should, yet you can fall into the trap of not focusing on the essentials that you'll need to become successful. I've said it for years that are learning curve is not linear but moving along parallel paths.

Laying a proper & solid foundation for your business with the right tools will pay you huge dividends later.

Why Do Network Marketers Fail with Leads?

Old School or New School, it really doesn't matter eventually your going to have to talk with your prospects or customers. It doesn't matter where you get your leads from a company or self generated, your conversion rate is going to depend on you and you alone.

Common mistakes we've all made:

When prospecting, are initial reaction is to place way too much importance on you company, the online presentations or your companies compensation pay plan. No wonder we are failing, we fail to address the want's and needs of our customers or prospective new business partners. Your prospect simply does not care about that! What is it that they truly care for?

This is what you have to discover, what is it that they truly want? When you begin to understand that a lead is more then just a name and phone number or email address, it is a real person that you'll be talking to!

Today we have advertisers selling us courses on how to "Create an endless Flow of Free Network Marketing Leads." If this really worked why are they paying for advertising in the first place?

Generating your own leads still will not guarantee your success, you still must establish credibility and trust with your prospects and customers in order to become successful!

What is Important to Remember:

This business is not about systems, video's, email campaigns these are just tools and processes. What it really is about developing long lasting personal relationships with both your customer base and downline members.

Even if it takes you several years to learn how to effectively communicate and connect with people, once you do, your set for life no matter what you do! With today's economic conditions, network marketing is the best work at home business you could ever start!

Are Network Marketing and Multi-Level Marketing the Same Thing?

As companies all over the world look for ways to market their products to consumers as cheaply as possible, network and multi-level marketing are fast becoming the buzzwords of the industry.

In many cases, these two words are being used interchangeably. In an attempt to avoid the rather tarnished reputation it has had bestowed on it, many multi-level marketers are in fact now calling themselves network marketers.

Originally, however, these two titles had very different meanings. Before you decide which business opportunity you'd like to pursue, it's important that you understand the differences and the similarities.

Although multi-level marketing is often a used in network marketing, it is actually a completely different concept. When most people mention the term multi-level marketing, the company that immediately comes to mind is Amway.

Multi-level marketers make their money by introducing others into their programs as distributors. They are then paid a commission on the revenue that the person they introduced brings in. This continues as more and more people are added to the downline.

Successful multi-level marketers are making money off of other people's work. The idea is that as you continue to recruit new people into the organization, you move yourself up from a worker bee to management. 6 Reasons Why People Fail At Network Marketing

There are many people who are looking into starting an Internet Network Marketing business and are being approached with various opportunities. They are being promised that they would make thousands of dollars overnight. So, they proceed to sign up with the company with high hopes of reaching to the top of the compensation plan.They did everything that their Upline told them to do in order to achieve success in their business. But after a few weeks, they realized that they were facing rejections, spending more money in their business than they were receiving, and traveling from hotel to hotel to meetings with no true results. They are now frustrated and wondering why they have not made a dime and quit the business.

It is said that 97% of network marketers fail because of these 6 reasons:

1. Unrealistic Expectations: Often time when people get involve in a network marketing business they have a misconception of becoming rich overnight. As newbies in the industry we believe that this is training and this is what will get them to the top. Let it be known that this is not training. Remember, promoting your company’s replicated website will only attract the unqualified leads. People join you and not your business opportunity. This means people will only get involve with people who they trust, who have provided some form of value to improve their Journey to Success.

3. Confusing Strategy: Network marketing is a business of duplication and replication. In order to be successful at network marketing you will need to have a duplicable strategy. If your downline cannot duplicate what you do, then your business will become a one person business with no meaningful results. You will find yourself managing your downline, you do the presentations, you contact their list in addition to yours. This is not duplicable.

4. Sacrifice: Just like anything that we do in life, we must make sacrifices. If you want to be successful in this industry there will have to be sacrifices. Give up on old ways of doing things, step outside of your comfort zone, and try new things to improve yourself. Now, making these changes or sacrifices may cause you to loose a few hours of sleep, it may mean that you cannot party on Friday nights because you have training. But remember, these sacrifices will turn into rewards in the end. When majority of network marketers get started they figure that they can become successful with their old ways. 5. Lack of Action: Now, being consistent with the real money making matter where you produce money on autopilot or while you are sleeping. When you are constantly on the run attending these regional events, weekly money making meetings, conference calls, please ask your self, are you really maximizing on time. 6. Daily To do List: To create Wealth! You must have a list (this is your work capital). This is your business and if you do not operate it like a business than you will fail in this industry. You need to have a daily list, and as you complete each task you check it off the list. For example, if your list is to complete an article, do a video, then make it your goal to complete your article and the video on that day. Do not stop until it is completed. If you practice pushing things off for the next day, then you are delaying your success each day.

Network Marketing-Tired of the Traditional MLM Receipe?

I just read something today that really made me mad. Apparently, a highly respected veteran in the network marketing industry, sent out an e-mail that was bashing what he called “Network Marketing” gurus for teaching people the skills of self-branding and independent lead generation.

This guy said that '99% of network marketers don’t want to know about how to brand themselves in their business or learn the skill of lead generation' and, he said, that people didn’t have the mental capacity to do it. I was appalled. How cynical. How insulting to the 99% of network marketers in the industry.

The ironic part of it, that this was coming from a guy sending out an email to a list of subscribers he had created through personal lead generation and self branding.

This veteran’s view was eerily similar to a guy I studied in college- Karl Marx. You may have heard of him, the Father of Communism. Karl Marx believed that people are too stupid to make their own decisions on how to spend their money. Thus, it was the job of the almighty government to tell them how to spend their money. This guy’s idea that 99% of network marketers don’t have the ability to learn how to brand themselves is not much different that Mr. Marx’s.

It doesn’t surprise me all that much though, when you think about it. This guy made his money the old-fashioned way. Talking to everyone within a 3-foot radius. He knows how tough it is to build a business that way. That’s exactly why only approximately 3% really make money in network marketing…that is…until now.

With the Internet came the ability to talk with a person across the country with the click of a mouse. With the Internet came our ability to grow a business much faster than the Veterans did. And the people who figured out how to use the Internet to achieve this feat became instant MLM leaders, and this doesn’t make the “old school” guys very happy.

They are miffed that someone could build an organization equal in size to theirs in less than half the time- without cold calls, hotel meetings, and coffee appointments. So they will naysay it until the very end. They don’t want the competition for the leadership roles! Shame on them!

Considering that these folks preach from their stages in hotel meeting rooms, on conference calls, and at conventions about how their company offers the “average” person the ability to make millions. Yet, when others try to teach their distributors how to make millions, but in a different way (and a faster and much more efficient way I might add) they criticize their efforts.

If it is true that 99% of network marketers aren’t interested in self-branding (branding themselves as a leader) and generating their own leads instead of paying per lead, then
we’re all in trouble because the high attrition rate in network marketing will stay the same. I don’t believe that is the case at all.

Actually I believe that our industry is filled with highly motivated and innovative individuals that don’t want to be given a job to do without personal thought or insight. The “old-school” way of network marketing tells people to: Take people to a hotel meeting. Meet them at a coffee shop. Answer their objections with these canned responses. “Edify” your upline. Close them using one of 5 methods.

It’s a job! It’s not a business. If it was a business, you would be able to infuse creativity and your own thoughts into the system. If it was a business, you would be a true leader and offer truly valuable information to your downline, not the tired old recipe handed down from generation to generation.

Yes. You can get people into the business using the traditional recipe. But you have to go through the time-consuming, emotionally draining recipe thousands of times to even build a small organization. If they say 1 out of 10 will join your business…Then after talking with 100 you’ve only got 10 people. That sounds like a pretty darn inefficient way to run a business.

With Internet marketing you can become a leader just by educating yourself and helping to educate other people on how to build a business. With internet marketing, you build a group of people who trust you, and want to do business with you.

With Internet marketing you aren’t limited to talking with people in your hometown or in cities within driving distance.

With Internet marketing people come to you to learn information. Now what’s so wrong with that? Why should we be resigned to being the hunter instead of the hunted? You shouldn’t.

I believe that Internet marketing offers the ability for people to learn how to become leaders, for them to become leaders, and for them to get rewarded for their efforts in helping others.

Network marketing offers people like you and me, who don’t have hundreds of thousands or millions to invest in a brick and mortar business, the opportunity to become a millionaire within just a few years.

I believe that you have that future waiting for you.

I don’t think you are one of the 99% that he was talking about as simply needing to be told what to do because that’s all that your mind can handle. How do I know? Because I started from nothing, and if I can attract people into my business without using the tired old recipe, so can you. If I can have multiple people join my business in just a few weeks without ever having spoken to them about my business, with just a minimal amount of internet marketing experience, so can you. I believe you can even if you don’t. Why?

Because just a couple of months ago I was told that if I just worked diligently for a few months, I would start seeing people joining my business and coming to me asking about my business without my ever buying leads, cold-calling, or posting flyers around town.

At times I didn’t think it would really work, but I held on to the hope, and it started happening. Faster than I ever imagined. So I keep that statement in mind and I get strength from it on the slow days, and so now I am passing it on to you.

There will come a day when you’ll have a thriving organization that grows without effort, and a lack of money is no longer an issue. I believe that the day will come, just a few years down the road, when you look at yourself in the mirror and say . . . “How did I get so lucky? Do I really deserve all this?”

The answer is . . . Yes you do!

What Network Marketing is NOT!

It is NOT an INVESTMENT PROGRAM! Just because you bought a business opportunity, it will forever be a business ‘opportunity’ and not a business if you sit and do nothing. This is not Unit Trust or Mutual funds or a Fixed Deposit Savings Account. The money doesn’t grow by you becoming a distributor. The more you invest doesn’t mean you will necessarily earn more.

It is NOT a GET RICH QUICK SCHEME! Those who make it big in MLM within a short time are the EXCEPTION to the NORM. Do you have what they have? (The experience, built trusts, contacts, paid the price) Everyone who has made it had all paid the price.

It is NOT totally a SALES RECRUITMENT PROGRAM. Some like to sell. Some are salespersons, being good in sales will not make you succeed in MLM.

It is not MUSICAL CHAIRS. It is never about whom gets there first, sponsor a few people then sit down and watch the group build itself while the latecomers miss out on the opportunity forever. Remember that if the downline works harder, they will eventually earn more than their uplines.

It is not a 9-5 JOB. In a 9-5 job, some people get away without doing any work sometimes (they still get their salary). But it is very obvious in Network Marketing that what you GIVE is what you GET.

It is not a CLONING MACHINE. I am not down playing the need for uniformity and like-mind direction but remember that EVERYONE is DIFFERENT. Different people have a different personal touch when it comes to recruiting. Their relationships with their prospects vary from groups to groups.

It is NOT a 100 METER DASH. It is a marathon. Business builders must pace themselves over a period of time. Going ‘all out’ to the point of exhaustion is just bad because it is the quality of the work that counts, not the quantity. Don’t ‘close the back door’ or jump into the deep end without a float.

It is DEFINITELY not a RELIGION. Please never ever treat your business like it is the ONLY business worth getting into (friend, if you don’t get into MY MLM and if you join others, you are not my friend). They are NOT losers if they don’t join you! Please don’t ever, EVER do this. You will lose a lot of true friends.

The Truth About Network Marketing

For some time now, people admire the success of Network Marketing companies. Overall Network Marketing businesses gained a measure of success with people looking to build income generating opportunities that last.

However, in the past few years, Network Marketing (or MLM) has gained a bad image that is ill-deserved. Many people associate MLM as an illegal business, scams, pyramids and other undesirable elements. However, the truth is that MLM is one of the best ways to generate income if performed correctly.

Truth be told, the only reason MLM has descended in its desirability is because too many people get involved to make a quick buck without really knowing what it takes to build a good MLM downline organization and how to approach the business correctly.

Many people actually think that an MLM business entails making money without even working. There has been a bevy of unethical distributors in the MLM business. Many try to make money by misleading other people. And many other people drop out after investing in an multilevel marketing business due to frustration and lack of persistency.

These people, often think they can relax and earn money just by doing nothing. They will surely be disappointed when they find out that they are not earning much at all. They therefore badmouth the MLM business as a whole.

Unfortunately, their failures are their own doing. However, if you approach an MLM business with the right mindset you are sure to gain a great degree of financial success. And the key to obtaining financial success in the MLM business is DUPLICATION.

Duplication means that you’re supposed to create a downline organization that is growing. Every member of your downline should be able to create his or her own downline. This means that every single member of your team is able to sponsor other people in return.
If you can create a downline that is as successful as you are, then you can have a downline that will continue to generate income and make you become more successful.
But how do you a accomplish this? Here are a few tips:

1. Enroll like-minded people

If you want your downline to be successful you have to find people who are hungry for success. If you enroll people who are not motivated and are just in the business for the short term, then you are in serious trouble.

You are supposed to enroll people who are aggressive and persistent—just like you. If you can enroll people who are just like you, then they in turn will go on to recruit people who are built for success. This will build a veritable gold mine of enrollment agents.

2. Help others to become successful

The objective here is to build a downline where not only you are successful. Make sure that everyone and every single distributor of your team can succeed and can make money. If everyone can have success, they will be excited to continue building on that downline you started.

It is sad that some people are selfish and care only for their own success. In Network Marketing, this cannot be, and can never be. If you only care for your own success, you’ll find that your downline will steadily decrease since you are only thinking of your own success. Remember, in Network Marketing, everyone’s success is your success. If they succeed you earn.

3. Good leadership

Think of your downline as a valuable resource and not just an object just to earn money. If you learn how to value every single distributor of your team, you are sure to have a downline that is capable of accomplishing great success and unlimited income.

Duplication depends on the mindset of each and every member of this team. They should have a mindset just like yours—eager and raring to build their own organization.

Only then can you have duplication and success in your MLM business.

Parable of the Tortoise and the Hare (My Version)

Everybody's heard of the parable of the story of the tortoise and the hare. The moral of the story teaches us not to be lazy, complacent and over-confident (what we learn from the Hare).

What then do we learn from the tortoise? We learn that one has to be hardworking and persistent.

This was the morals that we were all told right? Well, what if I told you that there is more to this parable than we normally see?

'What is it?' you may ask.

Most people fail to see one more moral from this parable.

That is, 'The Tortoise did not 'THINK TOO MUCH'and 'GIVE IT A GO' and tried to compete with the Hare'.

The tortoise himself knew that he would never have a chance to win the hare in the race were they to actually compete. But the tortoise decide, 'If I don't try, I would never know!'

So, learn from the tortoise, don't think too much; just go ahead and try, if you didn't even try, how would you ever know that you could not do it?

Action does not only speak louder than words, it speaks louder than thoughts too!

So, we see the major factor is a goal. Therefore in order to achieve success, you must first determine your goal.

DETERMINE GOAL!

Once you have determined your goal, you also need to set a time frame on when you want to achieve your predetermined goal. Therefore, you now need a detailed plan on how to achieve this goal within your stipulated time frame.

MAKE DETAILED PLAN TO ACHIEVE GOAL!

We now know how and what we need to do to achieve our goal so that we can achieve success. There is only one thing left to do:

Dangers of your 'Comfort Zone'



Years ago some scientists did a simple experiment on a bullfrog. They threw a bullfrog into a container of boiling water, and the bullfrog instantly popped out of the boiling water. Next they put the bullfrog into a container of cold water. The bullfrog liked it and stayed in the container. The scientists then turned on the heat at the bottom of the container. As the water got warmer, the bullfrog relaxed and took a nap. The bullfrog was so comfortable that it stayed in the container and was "cooked".


SUCCESS PRINCIPLES Most of us are in the "comfort zone". We have a house to go home to, a nice bed to sleep on, food in the fridge, a group of friends to mingle with, along with some basic necessities of life. We have worked hard to get to where we are now. So why should we change this? The truth is most of us are like the bullfrog, because we feel warm and comfortable, we refuse to get out of our comfort zone, and prefer to stay where we are. In life we are either creating or disintegrating. There is no such thing as "staying where we are", because there is always movement. So if we are not movinig ahead in life, we must by nature, be moving in the opposite direction.

Finger Lickin' Good

He was 65 years old when he received his first social security check of $99. He was broke, and owned a small house and a beat up car. He made a decision that he has got to change. The only idea he had was a chicken recipe, which his friends liked. With that idea in mind, he took massive action. He left his home in Kentucky and traveled to many states in the US to sell his idea. He told the restaurant owners that he had a chicken recipe that people liked and he was giving it to them for free. What he wanted in return was for the restaurant owners to pay him a small percentage on the pieces of chicken sold. He got rejections after rejections, but did not give up. In fact, he got over 1000 rejections. He got 1009 no’s before he got his first yes. With that one success Colonel Harland Sanders changed the eating habits of the whole world with Kentucky Fried Chicken.

SUCCESS PRINCIPLES: Age is no barrier to success, and so is capital. What is needed is an idea put into action, followed with proper planning and persistency. How many of us will keep knocking on doors when we have received 1000 rejections? I presume not many! This is why there are not many successes like Colonel Sanders.
